TeraPixel has worked with the University of Michigan for over eight years, developing interactive and web materials and utilizing a Better, Faster, Smarter approach. For example, in 2005, TeraPixel redesigned the School of Music, Theater and Dance website for its 125th anniversary celebration. We implemented a better method for the School to manage and update its own content. Now, authorized staff and faculty can make direct changes to their portions of the site, submitting changes through built-in approval techniques which decentralize, simplify and expedite the process. Even the selection and replacement of photos on the home page can easily be accomplished, keeping the site current and dynamic.
New Websites
TeraPixel created a website for the University record label, Block M Records to showcase audio and video media from upcoming artists. Current featured artists are displayed on the home page, while an ever-growing album catalog is updated on a regular basis.
We also built a site for the Center for Performing Arts Technology that features new media program information and research. Its unique Flash navigation is easily updateable via standard text files and a Flash-based media player is integrated into the interface.
A Flash mini-site for the Masters of Fine Arts assists in the recruitment of Masters-level students by presenting recent multimedia research and performances via video, pictures, and audio clips. Pictures of facilities, information on faculty, and links to degree requirements are accessible via a unique animated interface.
The Treasures for Piano website is a new addition to the UofM online resources. It contains a large database of musical selections, cataloged by difficulty, era, composer, and numerous other criteria. We expanded the functionality of an existing database, added a new interface for easy editing and approval of database entries, and created a look and feel consistent with the School’s main site.
